Hip Hop Public Health (hhph.org), the New York City-based nonprofit striving to achieve health equity by harnessing the transformative power of music, art and science, hosted it’s virtual Remixing Public Health Gala live on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.
Honorees included the following:
- Cheryl “Salt” James of the pioneering rap group, Salt-N-Pepa
- President of the American Heart Association and honoree, Dr. Mitchell Elkind
- The trio behind supporting the development and amplification of Hip Hop Public Health’s trilogy of COVID-19-related music video. , “20 Seconds or More”, “20 Segundos o Más” and “Behind the Mask” — Patricia Doykos, PhD, Director of the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation, Helen Shelton, Senior Partner at Finn Partners, and Melinda Gould, Partner at 40 West Advisors
- Dr. Melony Samuels, the Founder and Executive Director of The Campaign Against Hunger
