“The Kindness Diaries” on Netflix: Exclusive Interview with Leon Logothetis
Season two of the “Kindness Diaries” is now streaming on Netflix! The first season was full of surprises, joy and peace and this season is sure to live up to greater expectations as Leon Logothetis travels around the world in his yellow VW Beetle Kindness Two. He relies entirely on the kindness of strangers and gives back to unsuspecting good Samaritans. The show is about showing and sharing compassion and empathy towards others.
The day of our phone interview I was having a really bad day at work. To prepare for the interview I watched the “Kindness Diaries” and ultimately felt renewed and refreshed about the world that we live in. By watching the “Kindness Diaries” I realized that I am very fortunate and I realized that we all have a role to play in making the world a better place. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to interview a man with a giant heart that spreads kindness to people that he doesn’t even know, even more so I was astonished to watch people that had as big of a heart as he did give kindness and love back to him. Please read the Interview below:
Yolanda Gibson: Were you afraid when you actually began your journey?
Leon Legothetis: “I was definitely afraid. Growing up I felt very alone. Pain pushed me, if I had not been in so much pain I would have not have begun my journey.”
YG: What role does faith (GOD) play in your journey?
LL: “I’m not religious but a man of faith. I believe I have been protected, it always does end well. I let faith guide me. People have tried to convert me, but I am just a man of faith.”
YG: What is the most egregious situation that has occurred on your journey?
LL: “ Nothing because I use my intuition, I don’t stay with people if my intuition tells me not to. People have offered to let me stay with them, and my intuition has told me otherwise so I didn’t stay with them.”
YG: I notice that you give a lot away, do you hate money?
LL: “I personally don’t hate money, money is energy. Money is a tool to use wisely, If all you do is make money your not living. True wealth is not in our wallets it’s in our hearts, there is so much more to care about.”
YG: What role did depression play in your journey?
LL: As a kid I felt alone and that I didn’t matter. At my job I didn’t have the opportunity to connect to people. Then I watched this show about motorcycle traveling, it was then I realized there was another way to live from your heart. As a society we have forgotten about community, I wanted to connect to community.”
YG: What can people expect from your book?
LL: “Go Be Kind” is a book that allows people the opportunity to discover ways to be Kind. It gives people daily activities that they can do such as:
- Doing an adventure where you can change someone’s life.
- Watch a kind movie.
- Go out and be a hero for someone.
The book is about connection, kindness is the portal.”
