The 28th Urban World Annual Urban World Film Festival is over and yet it is just the beginning of the next generation of artist that will drive the cinematic culture for people of color to the next level.

This year’s UWF festival not only brought the world’s most creative people of color to New York City to watch, analyze and discuss the newest shorts, films and documentaries, it brought them together to network, catch up and pay respect to all the visionaries that believed in themselves enough to take their ideas from their mind, to the paper, to the big screen.

This year also featured unforgettable moments of recognition and inspiration, as the festival honored Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor with the prestigious Luminary Award, celebrating her extraordinary contributions to the film industry. Additionally, Brandon Wilson and Ethan Herisse received the Emerging Talent Awards, highlighting their remarkable artistry and promising futures in cinema.

Talk Show Host, Tamron Hall attends the 28th Annual
Urban World Film Festival.
